The incredible images we are sharing come exclusive to Liguria Nautica from the port of Laurium in Greece. Laurium, located in the far south of the Greek peninsula, is one of the most important ports of the country. Due to its geographical location, it is a natural springboard for the Cyclades, and is an important tourist location. The port of Laurium, about 40km from Athens, was hit, along with the surrounding area, by a strong front of bad weather. The low pressure system which hit southern Greece, had high winds and torrential downpours which also led to local deaths due to flooding. It seems that the port of Laurium was among the hardest hit. Here are the photos we have been sent.
